Meet Isabelle Beel - Internal Sales Employee at Bekina Boots

Today we’re putting Isabelle Beel, Internal Sales Employee at Bekina Boots, in the spotlight. She’s been part of the Bekina family since April 2023. Discover what her role looks like, how she gets on with her colleagues and why she would recommend coming to work here.

CAN YOU TELL US A BIT MORE ABOUT YOUR JOB AT BEKINA?

I started as an Internal Sales Employee at Bekina Boots a year ago. As the Internal Sales Team, we work in tandem with External Sales. We provide them with administrative and commercial support. The administrative side of things involves communication with customers, preparing and following up quotes and orders, system management etc. We also provide commercial support by carrying out market research into new prospects or suggesting new ideas. The Internal Sales Team gets the opportunity to go along to fairs as well. It's great to meet the customers face-to-face and get a sense of what’s going on in the market first hand.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO WORK HERE?

I was looking for a commercial job in my own region. Bekina is a well-known name in and around Kluisbergen. I soon realised that they pay attention to ensuring a good work-life balance here, something I also attach a lot of importance to. I also felt a click straight away, with both the company and my colleagues. My first impression was really positive and I’m still very happy with my choice now.

“AS AN INTERNAL SALES EMPLOYEE, YOU WORK WITH COLLEAGUES FROM DIFFERENT DIVISIONS. EVERYONE COMPLEMENTS EACH OTHER PERFECTLY AND WE HELP EACH OTHER OUT WHEN NEEDED.”

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BEST EXPERIENCE HERE SO FAR?

Working with my colleagues! We complement each other perfectly and we help each other out when needed.” That makes work even more enjoyable. The Internal Sales Team works closely not only with External Sales, but also with our colleagues in Production, Logistics, R&D, Marketing etc. That communication is brilliant.

CAN YOU GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF A PROJECT OR ACHIEVEMENT YOU’RE PROUD OF?

Together with a couple of other colleagues, I set up a system to give employees in the warehouse a better overview of what’s coming up, in terms of the quantity of work, so they are rarely faced with surprises.  Cooperation between our sales team and the logistics team is crucial to ensure all orders are processed smoothly. This system made our cooperation even better than it was before.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT YOUR JOB?

Without doubt the customer contact. You get to build a personal relationship with them, which makes the work even more enjoyable. In addition to day-to-day contact with customers from our office, we sometimes get a chance to speak to each other in person too. When we see each other at a fair, for example. That adds an extra dimension and makes the contact even better. I also really appreciate the fact that I can take my own initiative in my job within Internal Sales.

WHAT MAKES BEKINA UNIQUE AS AN EMPLOYER?

The interaction between people. Between colleagues, but also the way Bekina treats its employees. The good work-life balance, for example; we can work from home one day a week and we have flexible working hours. There’s also a great atmosphere on the work floor at Bekina.

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND WORKING HERE TO OTHER PEOPLE? IF SO, WHY?

I would definitely recommend coming to work here. Bekina is a strong player in the region. It's a place where you can take on challenges and work with a great group of colleagues.
