New company car park

Innovation and sustainability are top priorities for Bekina and we try to put that into practice in everything we do. Our brand-new company car park is a perfect example of this. We recently updated our car park, making it completely future and climate proof.

Safety first

We want to take the freight traffic out of the centre of the village of Berchem, by allowing it to travel along the new freight road. This road runs behind our buildings, alongside the new car park. Our car park also features pedestrian zones and crossings, good signalling and lighting as well as green buffer strips to protect cyclists and pedestrians.

Improved comfort

The car park expands capacity too, with more than 15 new spaces. We’re also preparing for the electric vehicles of the future and increasing the charging capacity to 20, and eventually a total of 40 charging points. For cyclists we have provided an extra bike park and there is a separate parking area for motorcyclists. In the green zone behind the car park, we have created a new picnic area.

Greener

The car park has less asphalt than before and we have improved permeability in various areas so that more precipitation can be absorbed. We have made the car park greener in other ways too. Shade trees have been planted and we’re working on additional water-buffering and biodiversity strips. These green measures will ensure a cooler parking area in the summer and cooler air around the factory. In short: climate adaptation, ready for the future.
